b The Leningrad Sevkabel' Plant recently shipped 500 tons of cable products
y diesel ship. In September 1953, the covering shop and one of the cable shops
produced 850 kilometers of electric light cord, most of it destined for rural
areas.

Electrical Industry, has not been fulfilling its assignments satisfactorily.

Glavelektrosbyt (Main Administration for the Sale of Electrical Output)
has not been meeting the electrical equipment needs of kolkhozes in the Latvian
SSR and has not been supplying the proper sizes of wire.

The Tashkent Electric Cable Plant has fulfilled its gross production plan
for the first 10 months of 1953, but failed to meet its goals for the output of
electric light cord and coring, flexible, and bare cable.

PRODUCES ELECTRIC CABLE FOR FARMS -- Kiev, Pravda Ukrainy, 11 Oct 53
The Zaporozh'ye Internatsional Plant has produced above the plan 150 taps
of electric cable for rural regions.
NEW STRANDING MACHINES -- Tbilisi, Zarya Vostoka, 4 Nov 53
Stranding machines for producing high-voltage wire for the Moscow-Kuybyshev
power transwission lines have been set up in the new shop of the Moscow Moskabel'
Plant.
