NEW PUMP HAS GREATER LIFT -- Moscow, Vechernyaya Moskva, 14 May 53
The Moscow Plant of Glavstroymekhanizatsiya (Main Administration for the
Mechanization of Construction of Fuel Enterprises), Ministry of the Coal In-
dustry, produces pumps for many coal mines and for the Kuybyshevskaya and Stalin-
gradskaya GES projects. The plant has just designed a new screw pump which
will be able to raise water from a depth of 400 meters, as compared to the 200-
meter lift of previous models.

The Moscow Plant of Glavstroymekhanizatsiya has been awarded the transfer-
able Red Banner of the Council of Ministers USSR for both the first and second
quarters of 1953, in recognition of its achievements in an all-Union socialist
competition.
The plant has established production of a new-type pump for removing water
during the working of vertical mine shafts.

PLAN TO PRODUCE SMALL DREDGING PUMP -_ Tbilisi, Zarya Vostoka, 5 Mar 53
The Poti Dredging Pump Plant is soon to begin producing a new propeller
dredging pump called the Malyutka under the direction.of Chief Engineer G. A.
Tskhadaya. It will be used for dredging medium and small irrigation and
drainage canals. The pump can be transported on a truck and requires only a
single operator. It was designed by the Scientific Research Institute for
Hydraulic Engineering and Land Improvement of the Georgian SSR. The Ministry
of Cotton Growing USSR will aid in its production.
PRODUCE NEW APPORTIONING PUMP -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latviya, 18 Nov 53
The Riga Turbine Machinery Plant has turned out its first lot of a new-
type apportioning pump. In this model, a one-piece casing replaces the earlier
type with demountable cover.
Designers are now working on a high-pressure apportioning pump with a ca-
pacity of 100 liters per hour.
MASS-PRODUCE MODERNIZED COMPRESSOR -- Riga, Sovetskaya Latviya, 14 Oct 53
The Riga Turbine Machinery Plant has established mass production of the
modernized K-75 compressor.
