The Hunan Automotive Pa

s Manufacturing Plant has made exemplary achieve-

September 1951, the following advances were made: (1) the total value of pro
duction was increased seven-fold, (2) the over-all quality of the plant's prod-
ucts was raised 40 percent, (3) the productive efficiency in the manufacture of
major products rose 136 percent,
was lowered 4 .4 (4) the total cost of producing piston rings
5 percent, and (5)-the temper of piston rings was iacrat2aed from
70.degees to 90 degrees, thereby meeting international standards.
The plant exceeded its monthly quotas from February to August 1951 by an
average of 20.6 percent. The September 1951 quota was exceeded by 51 percent.
