MOBILE GENERATORS IN USSR PLANTS
ASK STORAGE BATTERY PLANT NEAR LEAD SOURCE -- Alma-Ata, Kazakhstanskaya Pravda,

Lead used for building storage batteries is shipped from Altayskiy Kray to
Leningrad, Poc:ol'sk, and Tyumen; and from there it is returned to Kazakhstan,
Siberia, and the Far East in the form of plates.
The building of a storage battery plant in Altayskiy Kray would eliminate
the unproductive transportation of metal over distances of thousands of kilo-
meters. Moreover, ebonite cases for storage batteries can be built in Ust'-
Kamenogorsk, thus making it possible to produce complete storage batteries from
local raw materials.

The Alma-Ata Storage Battery Plant has fulfilled the 1952 fourth-quarter
plan 154 percent.
PRODUCE LIGHTER MOBILE GENERATOR -- Moscow, Kinomekhanik, Sep 52
In July 1952, the Kiev Kinap Plant began the production of a new reduced-
v+eight model of the PES-750-1 Kiev mobile power unit weighing 60 kilograms. The
unit is designed to supply power for cinema projectors, for lighting purposes,

ODESSA PLANT BUILDS GENERATORS -- Moscow, Kinomekhanik, Sep 52
The Odessa Kinap Plant is producing the single-phase, alternating current
GPK-20 generator, weighing 43 kilograms, for the KES-3 electric power unit.
The above 50-cycle generator generates a 115-volt, 7-ampere cur-ent, and has a
rated power of 750 watts.
TIMBER MANAGEMENTS RECEIVE MOBILE POWER UNITS .-- Moscow, Moskovskaya Pravda,

The Likino Machine Building Plant, Orekhovo-Zuyevskiy Rayon, has shipped
five mobile PES-60 electric power units to timber managements of the Komi ASSR.

The Tambov Machinery Plant, Ministry of State Farms, is building mobile
