DATA ON CHINESE ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, JUNE 1951
/This report presents the tables of contents of several issues of two
scientific quarterlies, the Chung-kuo K'o-hsueh and the Science Record, both.
published by the Acr'iemy of Sciences of China. It also gives some information
on the Academy of Sciences. The report is divided into three parts.
Part I gives the tabus of contents of four consecutive issues of the
Chinese -language Chung-kuo K'o-hsueh for the period August '>>j - May 1951.
This quarterly, edited and published by the Academy of Sciet-es, is printed by
the Hsin-hua Tung-hsun She and distributed by the Hsin-hua Bo Itstores. The
prir.e per copy varies according to the paper used 60 yuan for slick paper and
30 yuan for newsprint. According to uata in the ilovember 1950 issue, 2,500
copies. were printed
Part II gives the tables of contents of three consecutive issues of the
English-language Science Record for the period December 1950 - June 1951, Al-
though basically an English-language. publication, some of the articles are written
in French or German (as is noted in the listing). All articles are followed by
Chinese-language surmnaries.
Attention is called to the fact that some articles published in Chinese in
the Ci:ur.g-kuo K'o-hsueh appear later in English in the Science Record. For ex-
ample, "The Upper Wind Structure Over Western Chinu in'Ainter by KuKu Chen-ch'ao,
appeared in the February 1991- issue of Chun-kuo K'o-hsueh and in the June 1951
issue of the Scienco Record.
Part III lists the names of institute:, la'ncratorie., anal cfficco of tihC
Arnremy of Sclcnces, os welt as their responsible irenls, as they appeared in the
May 1951 Issue of Chuntrj-kuo K'o-hsueh and the June 1951- issue of Science Record.
