TRADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ATHENS AND WARSAW CHAMBERS OF CO10MERCFE LComment; The 'following information give;; details about the trade between Greece and Poland, as well as lists of goods exchanged. and the names and addresses of Polish import and export organizations involved--7 Following the announcement that a trade agreement was signed between the Chamber of Commerce of Athens and the Chamber of Co^~?.orce of Warsaw on 22 October 1952, many meetings took place in the Athens Chamber of Commerce, as well as at the Ministry of Trade, to find the most appropriate way of executing this agree- ment in its entirety and in the shortest possible time. The following persons participated at the meetings which took place in the Athens Chamber of Commerce K Konstantinou, president; l.. Golemis, vice-presi- dent; A. Varvagiannis, general director; and St. Katnoulis, director of trade, all representlug the Athens Chamber of Commerce. Also participating were P_ Lozos, vice-president of the Piraeus Chamber of industry and Commerce; N. Kostantinidis and Skouteropoulos, counselors to the Firaeus Chamber of Industry and Commerce; G. Papadimitrakopoulos and. 11. Touttatos, president and vice-president, respectively, of the Panhellenic Association of Exporters; Alarranis, president of the To- bacco Trade Federrtion of Greene; and A. Athena Chamber I,a Commerce submitted, a note to the Ministry of Trade proposing that a special commit tee C.~; med. t . l i lies up the execution of thin -?_- The note proposed that the committee be composed. of the presidents, or their alternates, of the Athens and Piraeus Chamberu of industry and Commerce, the Pan- hellent.c Association of Exporters, the '1 bocce Trade Fedc:ation, the Association of Greek Manufacturers, the General tirec-t.or of Trade, and his alternate from the Ministry of Trade. ILLEGIB 25X1A Approved For Release 2002/08/06 : CIA-RDP80-00809A000700210186-8 Approved For Release 2002/08/06 : CIA-RDP80-00809A000700210186-8 25X1A Texts of the trade agreement were sent to the rest of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Greece, the Panhellenic Association of Exporters, the Tobacco Trade Federation of Greece, the Association of Greek Manufacturers, the Union of Trade Associations of Greece, the Trade Associations of Athens, Piraeus, and Salonica, and the Associations of Trade Representatives of these latter cities. On 26 November 1952, Th. Kapsalis, Minister of Trade, in a note to the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that he agreed that a special com- mittee should be set up to help carry out the trade agreement. He said that he was appointing loannis Ioannou, alternate General Director of the Ministry of Trade, as representative to the special committee and Efth. Anagnostopoulos, commercial advisor of the ministry, as his alternate.
