~omment: Recently, the non-Communist Jewish press has con-
stantly called upon world Jexry to ,unite to combat Soviet anti-
Semitism. The following two articles which appeared in non-Com-
munist German-language newspapers ', published in Tel Aviv give ex-
amples of ouch appeals to fight against the widely publicized So-
viet anti-Semitism.
In the first article, which appeared in the independent pro-
government Yedioth Hn om, Dr F. Winterstein pints out that Zion-
ism, as s uniting element, is the '.only solution to this problem.
In the second article, which appeared on the front page of the
Progressive Zionist 13ak1dmsh, bS. T. (not otherwise ident:~ified)
also appeals to Jewa everywhere to unite in order better to cope
with Soviet anti-Semitism an3 thus, save the Jews Prom complete
destruction

The Prague trials and their obvious anti-Semitic character prose again
that there is only one solution for the Jexs, i.e., Zionism, and that the Jexs
must devote sll their strength in supporting and stabilizing the State of Ia-
rael and the World Zionist Organization. The time has come for all Jews, par-
ticularly those in Israel, to act Jointly and to do axay with party politics
and hatred, which are dangerous to Isrr^1's development.
If the Jews unite against this threat to their existence, Zionist prop-
aganda in the Diaspora will become more effective. Such Joint action should
easily convince those indifferent and indolent Jewish people in the Diaspora
that the State of Israel is the only solution for the Jews, regardless of'hox
difficult and uncom^ortable life may be in Israel.

As s result of proper Zionist education in Israel, the criticism of Is-
rael and her people x111 assume less and less importance.. The feeling of
xorld Jexieh solidarity which xas upset by the Prague trials can easily be
restored through Zionist activity and by making the Jexs 1n the Diaspora
lone their feeling of indifference toward Israel, xhich hsa prevailed in
many Jexieh circles.
The Zionist campaign moat exploit the pride Jexa nor have in possessing.
a homeland after 2,000 years, The Jews must be taught to appreciate their
national state, no matter hox many errors are made by the Israeli government
and how merry ancrificea have to be endured by the individual.
The Prague trials should have taught Jexs not to become involved xith
parties of foreign nations, whether they be Communist, anti-Communist, or
otherwise. Jexs should refrain from participating in politics in foreign

In this tragic hour xhen the Communists agitate against Jexs, all Jexa in

ao that they rill be beat equipped to face these Soviet anti-Semitic attacks

There are various causes for this open Soviet anti-Semitic campaign.
One of the primary causes is that the Communists hnve realized that despite
tho fact that the Soviet Jexieh population has been deprived of persone,l free-
dom for decades, these Java have never lost their national Peeling. The Jews
behind the Iron Curtnia are strongly attracted to Israel, a country xhich m -
fuaed to be "liberated" by the Soviets. Because Israel refused to be made sub-
aer~ieat to the USSR, the latter nor holds her 3 million Jews as hostages. The
Soviets rant to revenge Israel's refusal, and that ie also xhy they made recent
attempts to xin the favor of the Arabs, of the Kazis in Weat and Esat Germany,
and o[ all anti-Semites in the entire world.
World Jerry is naw confronted xith a nex tragedy. There xas a possibility
of escape from Hitler Germany; however, there is no ray of escaping from this
large 6oviet prison, since the borders of the USSR are hermetically sealed.-- M.T.
