(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) A so-called national youth school is being'built at Stralsund, which is to be com- pleted by the middle of 1953. It will accomodate 320 men, The students will be prepared for special missions in a six months course. The Interior Ministry has appropriated 3,5009000 DM, of which 1,2009000 have already been made available. The training is intended to develop leaders for the I'Dienst ftir Deutschland.ii The instructors will be politically trained Volkspolizei_Officers, some of whom are seasoned veterans.of the Spanish Civil War. 2.. A training camp for Free German Youth (FDJ) functionaries has been in existence since,15 September 1952 at the Soviet troop training grounds at Ohrdruf, near Weimar. More than 100 beds and 88 lockers have been provided by moving out Soviet troops, The camp opened with 234 members who undergo a course of instruction lasting several weeks. There are also weekend courses. The training is in the use of carbines, scouting and utilization of terrain, partisan combat, and in the theory of parachute warfare. The instructors are members of the Volkspolizei. 3. An airfield will be built at Bad Saarow on the lands of the former Scharmftzelsee Land Society, for the Soviet occupation forces. Its completion is scheduled for October 1953. Workmen's barracks are already built.
