Ruegen between 3 and 5 November:-

1e The payment of back pay in aooordanoe with the recently published increases
has resulted in considerable lowering of disoiplinary standards in the
Stars leund Parow area. Off icere have had an average of some 300 East Marks
in back pay, while ratings have received, on an average 200 East Marks.

Stralsund - Sailing Restriction
5 Because a sailing craft has recently defected from Stralsund harbor, the
sailing of small craft from Stralsund has now been.forbidden during dark
hours.
Grero'llizei Craft
6, A number of Grenzpolizei KS boats are at present lying in Stralsund These
are some of the KS boats originally handed over by the Seepolizei,
7. No recruiting drive is at present being undertaken, as it is assumed that
general conscription will be ordered as soon as the formation of the National
Armed Forces is announced.
Visits on Seepolizei Craft
8. When Seepolizei craft visit East German ports, they are always opened to
FDJ and Young Pioneer personnel in uniform. Civilians accompanying these
persons are not, however, allowed to board the craft.

9. The recently established new naval type ranks apply only to sea-going personnel.
Construction of New Craft
10, The Volkswerft Stralsund has recently begun the construction of a new type
of "Schnellboot" (Speed boat). Detgila are an yet secret,

11. The Soviet minesweeper T.74*2 was lying in Stralsund on 6 November. Details
