Legend to'the map of the area south of Yerevan
1. Post with inscription "Yerevan".
2. Gardens,
3. Fields.
Civil airport, which is clearly visible from the highway. Source is
uncertain`of"the exact location, but believes it is near the village
of Shinkovit.
The village of Norakovit. Houses'line both sides of the road.
There are one or two small stores.
6. Distance between Norakovit and Taza-Kend, which is about two kilometers.
On both sides of the road, the fields are fairly flat. 'Between the .
highway and the railroad, there. is an artificial stream, called an arrk,
which irrigates the fields. The course of the arsks can. always be
clearly seen, because of the trees growing on the banks.
7. Village of Taza-Kerid. All the houses are surrounded by orchards, as is
usual in this area., These orchards, which are usually surrounded by a
wire or stone fence, are'an additional source of income for the
inhabitants. Frequently, the houses cannot be seen because of the fruit
trees.
