THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE. (FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) The military port of Lomonoscv is the oomplement of Kronehtadt naval base, the two ports forming one unit. Lomonosov is subordinate to the Kronshtadt Glavnyy Shtab (Headquarters), 1, Three naphtha stores about 450 meters from the coast. They are connected with the pier (4) by means of a subterranean pipe line which carries the fuel to the distributor, for the supply of naval units at Kronshtadt, 2, A ground floor building with a sloping redbrick roof.; it is 80 meters long, and 30 meters wide, and is a store for supplier for the Navy, 3. Wire fence preventing access to pier; only those working on naphtha supply to to the Navy are admitted, , Pier which is used partly for the mooring of coast guard vessels (20). Naphtha is supplied from this pier, Naphtha supply points are located in the center, as marked. A railway track extends to the head of the pier. From the pier the line Joins the broad gauge line bound for Kingissep (N59-22, X28-39)0 5. `Watch and control post for access to pier (4). 6, Signal station, at head of pier (4). 7. Distribution office, for?EM.pplie s for thhWavy. The building has two floors, a two-sloped, red-brick roof, and is approximately 100 by 25 meters. A landing for small local ships only. Zone No.. 20 is so encumbered with dead weights and with units moored there, that no ship of medium or small tonnage can land in the zone. 90 Mooring pier for military transports which are loaded with heavy motors and artillery pieces by means of a travelling crane. A railway track under the craned runs the entire length of the pier and is connected just beyond the pier with the line for Kingissgp. 10. Watch and control post. 10a. Barbed wire fence. 11. Wooden palisade about 2 meters high, which limits the mooring zone for commercial units of the coastal traffic between Kronshtadt and Lomonosov. 12. Passenger quay, on the palisade listed in No. 11. 13, Control post for passengers. A special section of the naval police, directly under the NKVD (sic), is in charge of this control post. The members of this section wear a navy uniform but with a peaked cap, and two yellow stripes on the right sleeve. This section has complete control of men and material; it has the power to arrest both oivilians and the military personnel of any of the services. 14. A wooden building; It is six or eight meters high, and covers an area o a ou by 1 O meters' 15. A small natural peninsula shorter than pier No. 4. There are no installations on the peninsula. 16. A wooden sentry box, with a small trellis surmounted by a white lantern. This lantern with its intermittent light is believed to serve as an alignment to another lantern. The location of the second lantern is not known precisely, but is believed to be between No. 13 and 15. l7. Seaplane station; east of Lomonosov port, and subordinate Glavnvv b at Kronshtadt. Three very large hangars with small cement runways to the the installations with a grey material, which could be either eternit (sic) C. Barracks for the men in charge of the seaplane station. D. Other observations the uniform of the Fleet Air Arm is similar to the Navy uniform but with a yellow, double-winged propeller on the left sleeve; and the uniform of the police section attached to the Fleet Air Arm is distinguished by the letters OKVF, Guards of the Red Banner Air Fleet (Okhrana Krasnoznamenogo Vozdushnogo Flota). This line tranships both passengers and material. 20,, Mooring zone for the coast guard. 21. Railway station quay. 22. Level crossing of the railroad. 23. Railing which divides the railway station from the station plaza. The Naval Command of Lomonosov is situated in a building of the port zone, the location of which is not precisely known, It is a local command subordinate to the Glavnyy Shtab at Kronshtadt. The following coast guard ships are usually moored in zone No. 20: BUR=N sic , VIKHR, BUG, SNEG, plus three other ships 25X1 The ships which serve in the Lomonosov port are subordinate to the Glavnyy Shtab at Kronshtadt. These ships are probably K-type towboats. There are only two or three small towboats in the zone, and a few small naval motorboats for local urposes.
