Special Government Shops in Sofia
1. There are special government shops in Sofia where only high Communist Party members
may make purchases with special ration cards. Such shops are located on the follow-
ing streets in Sofia: Dunav Street, Dondukov Boulevard, Tolbukhin Boulevard, Venelin
Street, Shipka Street, Masarik (formerly Krakra) Street, Oborishte Street, and Tear
Shishinan Street,
Facilities for Sot Personnel in Sofia
The American,-equipped Jewish hospital in Sofia was taken over by the government in
1944 and is now used only by high-level Communist Party members and by Soviet per-
sonnel.
A large appartmen't building, to be occupied by veterans of the war in Spain, was
recently constructed on Tear 0evoboditel Boulevard in Sofia, When the building was
completed and the appartmente had been furnished'# the families of Soviet technicians
were moved in.
At the end of September .252, work was under way~on an ore-washing installation in
.Rudozem, Smolyan Okoliya.

2. According to a recent decree, Rudozem is now in the newly-constituted Madan
25X1A Okoliya. lists Rudozem as part of the Gorubeo Mining Inter rise
specifically in section 4 which has its headquarter at Ribnitsa, 25X1A
mentions a flotation installation at Rudozem. For further information con-
cerning mines in the Smolyan and Zlatograd areas,
