The Ka.esong (N 37-589 E 126-33) (BT.8505) Security and Guard Section was forced in May 1951 under Major General CHO Sawsong (6392/0934-/2646), chief of the Second Bureau of the Ministry of Social Security (MSS).1 On 15 July 1952 the section was headed by 0 (0702), chief of the Preliminary Investigation Section of the LSS. The Preliminary Investigation Section,, which in July 1952 was still at, e;a :iced to the Second Bureau of the MSS, had its headquarters at BT-847059 and had a complement of 280 men. 2. b.Wder the chief of the Section were the Korean Labor Party Committee, headed by Y1 :Kane-song (2621/1323/2646)9 aged 28a the Personnel Unit., composed of bodZgiArd., s.,rvei.llance, and communications teams; the Security Unit headed by WON Chong,- hui (0337/6297/3556), aged. 30, composed of five teams of twelve men each; the rl-lim na.~y Rxarn.ir.1ation Unit, headed by KANG Hae .yong (1203/3189/6875), aged 39 and the Guard Unit, headed by KMG Bae-nam (1203/3189/0589), aged 35, composed of a guard company of 60 men, a military police unit of 25 men, and a sentry, and intelligence unit of 60 men. 3. The five teams wader the Security Unit were in the following areas in July 19520 f-rst team at BT-847059, third team at BT--862051, fifth team at BT-872038, sixth team at BT-948023, and seventh team at BT.-94704.2. 4. Onel states that the Second Bureau is in charge of obtaining intelligence through agents dispatched to South Korea and interrogation of captured South Korean agents.
