1, The vii .a;e of Kozitsa (N 41-27, 3 25-17), Momchilgrad Okoliya, has approximately
50 houses and 2,50 inhabitantal and is administratively subordinate to the village
council of &stardzhik,'=.

village has a Turkish elementary school. There are approximately 30 Bulgarian
Communist' Party members and.. 1,5 DSNM (TJinittrovski Si~yv.z Narodnata Mladezh: Dimitrov
Union of the People's Youth) in Kozitsa,
3. The following Inhabitants of Kozitsa were stated by informant to be Communist
Party members :
Zekirya Yusein,:av Myumyna,rov, about 33 years old, a tobacco-worker; he is tall,
of medium weight, with black hair, green Ieyes, a small mustache and a dark
complexion; he is married and has six children;
b. Redzhep Osmanov Halilov, about 30 years old, a tobacco-worker; he is tall, thin,
with black hair and, black eyes, a small mustache and a dark complexion; he
is ;Harried and he,s four ohildren; he in the Communist Party Secretary for Koz-
itsa;

the Astardzhik village council representative for Koz;itsa; he is tall, thin,
with black hair and black eyes, a mustache, and a dark complexion; he is
married and has one child;

height and thin, with black hair, black eyes, a large black mustache, and a
dark complexion; he is married and has two children; and
g. Halil Halibryamov Turmushu, about 40 years old, a tobacco-worker; he is tall,
thin, with black hair, black eyes, a large black mustache, and a dark com-
plexion; he is married and has five children.
1. Rgeu a a Prue im naires de Recensement de Po ulation an 31 Deoembre 1946
(Sofia 1947) gives the population of Kozitea as 3680
2. None of the maps and atlases available in this office show an Astardzhik in
the vicinity of Momchilgrad or Kozitsa. Furthermore, Rssultats Pr6liminaires
lists Kozitsa as part of the Rogozohe (N 41-28, N 25-18) Obehtina. The old
Turkish name of Ro;ozohe is Khacttrdzhik, which, since it sounds like Astar-
dzhik, may be the village to which informant is referring.
