WANG Ts'ung-wu (3769/1783/0710), head of the organization Department of the North China Bureau, said in a report to the Peiping municipal party committee that about 105,000 new Chinese Communist Party members were recruited from July to October 1952.' Their recruitment came during a period of consolidation which called for an increase in party membership and a purger of undesirables. 2. Seventy percent of the new members were from workers' families; twenty percent of this group had been raised to party membership from the Youth Corps The breakdown by area was as follows: 25X1A 25511A Comment.
