The Julius Fucik plant of the Skoda works in Brno is located in Brno-Dorny
2. The plant employs about 1,500 people,:half of whom are women. Qnly some 20%
of the workers are skilled. Work is'done in two eight-hour shifts.

The plant produces electrical equipment chiefly, including electric switohboxes,
air and oil switches for power stations and equipment for dredging machines. Its
products are mostly sent to Rumania, Hungary and the USSR. Recently urgent deliveries
were made to the Kunoice plant' of the Vitkovioe Klement Gottwald Iron Workso

Non-ferrous metals for. the plant are received from the Vah Machinery Works in
Povazska Bystrica (Q50/071) and from the Celalcovice Metal Foundries in Celakovioe

6. The plant is surrounded by a wooden fence and bordered on the east by the Ponavka
brook, Inside, it is divided'mnt9 production centers, which are largely independent
operational units, according to the SP$ (Iiidependent'Plant Economy-Samostatne podnikove
hospodarstvi) system, which was originally I introduced by the Nat?.plants.

7. Everything which is destined for' the USSR is produced under 'the supervision of
Soviet officers, who are attaohed`to each unit. The same Soviet officers accept
