1. Two cruisers were observed at anchor in Vayenga Bay.(N69-05, E33-26). They had two
funnels and two masts.
25X1
2. At Niktin Point (not located) there is a floating dock with an estimated capacity of
15,000 tons. The dock was in lifted condition and filled with motorboats.
At Murmansk shipyard, eight destroyers were seen. Seven the el th
was on the slip, red-lead painted and apparently new. 25X1
which resembled the type mounted on German naval vessels during World War II. These
destroyers were supposed to have been of the,O and 0 II classes, but they may not have
been all of the same class, and there may have been minesweepers among-'them.
There was a large submarine, at the shipyard,, about 120 meters long and very streamlined.
The bow was higher than the deck, and from above it looked like a barrel. No guns
were seen on deck. The submarine might have been one of the K-class, but could also
have been one-of the new anti-submarine submarines., similar to.the American type.
5. Ten large destroyers were observed entering port. They were described as longer than
those seen at the shipyard,. of modern design, with two funnels and two single masts
with the after mast in front of the after funnel. They had radar as seen on merchant
ships. The antenna was working and revolving very slowly, about one revolution every
20 seconds.
6. The ten destroyers- appear to-have been of the SILNYY class, but the number was so large
that there may have been other types or minesweeperi> among them.
