Between 2 and 4 par. on 7 Decea ber 1952, Wiener. Iieugtdt airf'ie]d was
occupied by 36 FiG-15s, twin--jet planes, and 6 single-engine aircraaft.
Eight of the ii twin-jet planes had unidentified devices at' their wing tire
and other devices at the elevator assemblies, probably intend for the
locking of the rudder. K o aircraft were observed in the hollow in front of
the pyrotechnic plant There was nc fir activity. The sky was 10/1.0 over-
cast at an altitude of about 2,5(C meters, and the weather was hazy. Sentries
wearing black-bordered blue ep iul ets were posted at Theresienfeld airfic3 d.
The hangars were closed, , ,nd no aircraft were parked in front of them.
20 Between 4 and 5 pGrr , on 9 December, the number of aircraft and th=.ir
arrangement at Wiener lieustadt airfield was the same as on 7 Decmber. There
was i0C overcast and haze. There was no air activity. Sentries were posted
at the Att, gun emplacements. Most of the AA guns were covered with tarpailinsa
The ?'un shield and a flash hider were identified on an AA gun which was not
covered. Teo camouflage netting s were observed in the AA gun emplacements or
the shrapne? proof revetments. The radar' station previously observed south of
Wiener Neustadt Baal Fischau road was vacant. The cantonment west of Wiener
Naustadt was guarded by sentries who wore red-bordered black epaulets. In the
barracks area there were 2C trucks, l.C of which were parked in sheds. An AA
machine gun was mounted on a truck and six AA guns on tripods were located
near the tracks. No parked AA guns were observed. 1

field or the long-wire antenna between two low wooden buildings. A command
