1. Three or four jet airplanes are parked on Bezmer airfield. 2 This field has been
specially equipped for jet aircraft, its landing strip has been lengthened, and
underground hangars have been built. 3
2. During 1952, two or three jet planes, coming from Bezmer airfield, flew over
Yambol on daily training flights. These jets, of Soviet manufacture, were of
the following types:
a. "Strela", with swept back pointed wings; and
b. l'Yastreb", with straight 90 degree square wings.
Airplanes of the following types, exact number not known, were observed at Yambol
airfield:
a. LAS-7;
b. LIT-2; and
c. YAK-9 . 495
