Urarndum +i?e..fields are located five and one-half 'kilometers north of Stara Zagora in the direction of Draganovtsi (N 142-55,p 3 25-10) and four kilometers from the Bideok-ka stream. Mining operations were begun in "early" 1952. In August 19529 water from a mill on the Bidechka stream was used at the mine,p but sometime prior to 22 September 19529 a pump was installed to pump water directly from the stream. Soviet experts are allegedly working..at the mine. 2. In February 1952, a group of Soviet men and women, allegedly experts, 25X1 rking at a uranium mine located 500-19(500 meters` north of Seslavtsi villa (N 142-1479 E 23-31) 9 Sofia district. I 25X1 A' hydroelectric plant is-undeqr construction in Koprthka village (N 142-389 E 25-20), 10 kilometers west of Eazanltlk. Construction was begun about July 1952, and forced labor is being used to.carry out the work. Soviet engineers and technicians are at the construction site. In September 1952,I the water of the Tundzha River near the 25X1 bridge in the south sector of Yambol (N 42-280 E 26-31) was blue and llow and 25X1 the surface stead as though read with oil s is the first time this t e of chemical pollutions althouiA 25X1 the chemical pollution created by the various industries of Stara Zagora.
