1. The 1 and 6 Rifle Regiments occupy a joint barracks area approximately 300 meters
square, located at the corner of Stalin Highway and Patriarch Eftimiy Street in
Sofia. The 1 and 4 Artillery Regiments are quartered in a recently constructed
white stone 14- or 5-story building located approximately four kilometers from
Sofia, on the Sofia-Plovdiv highway. Tanks of an unidentified type were observed
in the vicinity of the 1 and 4 Artillery Regiment quarters.
2. In 1951, a large Army garage was built approximately two kilometers southwest of
the Isk>r Station, on the west bank of the Iekdr River. It has the following
approximate dimensional

It.allegedly belongs to 4 Artillery Regiment since a road was constructed between
the garage and the regiment's barracks.
The 1 Signal Regiment is located adjacent to the central prison of Sofia. The
1 Engineer Regiment is located 1100 meters west of the Aleksandrovska Hospital, 10
meters from the Sofia-Knya7hevo streetcar line in Sofia. An unidentified truck

garage-like buildings. once obtained some oxygen there.
In early 1951, a new Li-story barracks building approximately 60-80 meters long and
20 meters wide was built in Gorna Banya, Sofia okoliya, and used for a Trudovak
officers school. All classes were held in this building.. A streetcar line passes
in front of the building, located approximately 100 meters south of the village
hot springs bath.
8. In early 1951, Captain Georgi Zabunov was "machinery technician" at the reserve
officers school and supervised the installation of radiator equipment.2
9. In 1952) reserves were allegedly being recalled and sent directly.to the Yugoslav
border with no additional training.
10. In May 1952, two trains, each composed of 25 to 30 freight cars, were observed
leaving the Sofia freight yards in the direction of Plovdiv. One train was loaded
with tanks and the other with guns, and they were all covered with tarpaulins.
In early 1952, an armored unit was observed moving from Stara Zagora
transport regiment is quartered in barracks located adjacent to the Engineer
'Regiment.
Zavod No. 12 is a factory located near the quarters of 1 Engineer Regiment. This
factory belonged to 1 Engineer Regiment prior to dorld War II and was turned over
to the railroad administration during the war. The factory is now believed
to have reverted to 1 Engineer Regiment because military personnel have
been observed entering and leaving it. Its buildings are described as long 1-story
building 60-80 meters long and 20 meters wide. There are no other buildings
located in the vicinity.
A reserve officers school is located 1.5 kilometers south of Gorna Banya and
approximately 100 meters from the Sofia-Pernik railway line. It is a new h-story
