He prepared only .the charge; the theory behind it was not kn.Qwn.to him and he could not per- form the ealculationa3. ~, The essence of the invention. was that the des~ruct$*a pcwer of the misaiie was enhanced considerably if the explosion waves were focused. To achieve, this effect the dharge was given a parabolic shapee. Like light waves, the explosion waves also met at a focal point rorhere the shock effect was 3fJ to 40 times greater than the Kinetic shock powere 3a EXperiments had indicated that the hollow charges had its maximum effect any at-the place of the explosion, but had no effect at a distance. ~t was found for;exampla, that if the charge was placed and exploded on a~20 em, thick armor plate, the plate was blown into minute pieces.- The blast produced a huge, seashell-like break, which destroyed the cohesion of the extra-hard metal.- 4.. It was conclude$,that the most practical use of the hollow ar~ge~was as a~x armr~r-piercirLg missile. It was also utilized in the Hun arian?ck~ -aided by an acoustic firing device called ttbuzogs?ny~ (mace or ~lid8rclt ~l~vil spirit o;P iwbgobi in) a _ _ ,. _ _ _ _ _ 5, The manufacture of the hollow charge is relatively simple. Currently, it is manufactured by the M~ityr~,s Rdkosi ~fForks and by the Lampart Factory. 6. ExperimentsL: i~x connection with the application of the hollow charge ware conducted at the Honvbd M~lszaki Intbzet (Army Technological Institute) which had previ.ousl "been called Eaditechnikatt Int~zet (Institute of ~.
