is The: 22 Infantry Regiment was moved from Tulcea to Braila on 23 November 1952
and installed in the now Gheorghiu Dej Barracks. The regiment is composed of
} three battalions of three companies each, a communications platoon and an
accomp hying battery. Each rifle oompariy has four light machine guns., type
ZB31-5O; two heavy machine guns, German type 08; and four 80 mm mortars. The
ba.t?woxy has three 122 mm guns. The rifle companies have 80 to 100 men' the
battery 50 men, the communications platoon 27 men. The commanding officer is.
Colonel Pavel Costea; the adjutant is Captain Samoile Faun; the political
officer is Lieutenant Nih :L and the Soviet lj.o,:.Lson officer is Major
Piotr Rubashevskii. The uniforms have shoulder boards decorated in yellow.
The 18 Artillery Regiment is located in the General Magheru Barracks in
Faurei. The regiment'whioh is horse-drawn., consists of two sections of three
batteries each. Each section has 350 men. The battery is equipped with
four 122 mm howitzers. The commanding officer is Colonel Traian Nihu. The
uniforms have shoulder boards decorated with red.
The Galati River Flotilla has its headquarters in the Aurora Barracks., Strada
Vadul Moldovei 79. The flotilla has four 60-ton boAts which can be equipped
