The western and southern borders of the field were surrounded ' by a fence 1.5 meters high. A spur track extended from ul. Jawo?c yrska in an eastern direc- tion to the southern edge of the field. At 10:30 a.m. on 0 November 1952, 8curoe observed no construction work at the installation nor runways, taxi- ways and aircraft revetments. The field had a grass cover, l The field was 1,3CC meters from east to west and I,CCO meters from north to south. Ii.stallations seen on the northern boundary of the field :'rorr. west to east included a guardhouse; a hangar; a three-story building, SSC x 20 meters, with yellow- grey, Master, a flat roof with a rectangular supers truc?turc of trellis work, about 200 x 8C cm, equipped with antenna rods and xrete.orolo-- gical instruments; three hangars, the easter ost of which was about 90 x 40 x 20 meters and had a vaulted roof. 2 The other three hangars measured about 70 x 30 x 12 meters and had flat roofs. Six three--s.t-ory buildings covering an area of about 6C x 18 meters and occupied by Soviet Air Force soldiers were observed north of the western hangar. North of these buildings was a barracks installation surrounded by a brick wall two meters high. The installation quartered a Polish Air Force unit and was guarded by a Polish Air Force soldier armed with a submachine gun. No air force soldiers were seen in the city.
