1. Giancarlo Pajetta, member of the Italian Communist Party Directorate, has
reportedly assigned. to the Unione Donne Italia-ne (UDI; Union of Italian Women)
the task of planning a campaign, to be implemented immediately, for dispatch
of "spontaneous" letters, appeals and. motions by Ital.i.an women and girls to
Mrs. Clare Boothe Luce asking her to be a spokesman for Italian women's desire
for peace.
Whereva? possible the campaign, if conducted., will not reveal its
Communist origin.
2, There is no confirmation in Rome that the campaign is being executed..
