THE SOURCE EVALUATIONS IN THIS REPORT ARE DEFINITIVE.
THE APPRAISAL OF CONTENT IS TENTATIVE.
1. The Welding Appliance Factory of Budapest (Budapesti Heggeszt8k6sifflekek Gydra),
located at Apt utca 90, Budapest III, has begun the production of flame throwers
which can be mounted on tanks.
2. The factory manufactures two types of "t51 M" flame throwers for the Hungarian
Arne The types differ in the size of the-container and the operating time..
The first type has a 200 liter container and Operates for 10 minutes; the second
flame thrower has a 350 liter container and operates for 18 minutes. In addition
both types have the following characteristics:
a. Effective range: 100-150 m.
b. Weight without charge: approximately 180 kg.
The factory .,wso manufactures flame. throwers for the USSR, ? 'hick differ from
those manufactured for the Hungarian Army in respect to the propellant containers.
The containers for the USSR have double Sa11s which are separated from each tther
by a copper wire mesh. The latter are supposed to give added protection against
an explosion.
