These ships were repaired at the Union Dock Yard at Patattou'(0360/1129/7333) Yangshup'u (2799/2885/3181+), Shanghai, a British-owned firm under the joint operation of the Hsiang Sheng (4382/3932) and the'Jui Jung (3843/5554) shipping firms. After the repairs were completed, the ships were armed at the Kiangnan Naval Dockyard. Each ship was armed with one Japanese-made 3-inch gun, two Soviet-made 4-inch army guns, four Japanese-made 25mm automatic guns, and two anti-aircraft guns. These ships were assigned to the East China Fleet which patrolled between Choushan Islands and Shanghai.
