The Ferihegy airport at Budapest is used by the Maszovlet Airlines. The Maszovlet personnel comprised: administration, 30 People; technical personnel, 120; weather service, 71 radio station, 19; goniometric station, ].a.. The Ministry of Communications has a control and maintenance personnel of 17 at the field, 2. The airplane park of theMaszovlet comprisesa a, 15 Russian low-wing, all metal LI-2 planes, equipped with two 1,000 h.p. engines (9-cylinder, radial), which are said to be copies of the American DC-3 Plane . A plane crew consists of two pilots, a radio man, and a mechanic. The planes-have accommodation for 2]. passengers. b. One Czech-low wing, all-metal. "Aero 45" plane, with two Walter engines. The crew consists of a pilot, radio man, and an assistant pilot who is also a mechanic. The plan* can accommodate six passengers. wi c "kpits. Foreign air routes: Budapest-Prague; Budapest-Warsaw; Budapest-Bucharest-Sofia. Budapest- Prague is a joint Maszovlet-Czech service. Budapest-Bucharest-Sofia is a latszovlet-Rumanian-Bulgarian pool. Budapest-Warsaw is flown only by the Soviet Airlines Compa , with connections at Warsaw to Moscow. Hungar- ian planes do not fly over the Soviet Union. 5. Assembly and Repair Shops. These consist of a carpenter shop, fitter's shop and engine assembly shop, equipped with modern machinery. Electric current is supplied by the Budapest power system. The airport also has its own power plant. The men work a 48-hour week, in two shifts. A mechanic gets 1,000 forints a month, from which there are deductions of 100 to 120 forints.? The 14th and 29th of each month are paydays. 6. The Fighters for Freedom Association (Szabadssgharcos Szovetseg) has its quarters at the. airport, where preparatory parachute training is given. The Maszovlet LI-2 machines are used for this. 7. The military airfield at Szeged has been isolated from the commercial field. The runways are the same and are used in common, but the military field is a restricted area and commercial planes may not pass over it. Annex: Sketch of the Ferijaegy Airport, 1 page.
