LI Mi has been given definite orders from Taiwan to-withdraw his farces frcn
Burmese territo q but has invented all kinds of excuses to avoid oomplianoe
with the or-ders,
The actual removal of Chinese Nationalist troops from Burma, if accomplished, will,
harry with it a serious dispersal problem. Less than 50 per cent of the Nationalist
troops in Burma are'Chinese. The balance of these forces are Shuns, Thais, Indiana,
and other non-Chinese'. In the event of withdrawal, only the Chinese will be per.-
witted to return to Taiwan. The remainder will have no place to go and will prov"~
turn into roving bandit gioups.
