1. Air activity observed at Wittstock airfield from 9 January through
6 February included:

hazy or foggy and cloudy with intermittent snowfalls.
jakiLua.m, Individual jet fighters made local training flights
from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
...,k2.1.1:armatla. There was no flying. Weather coneitions were the
same as between 9 and 12 January,
a?urlyr!,exz. There was no air activity between 10 arid 11:30 a.m. The
.weather was cloudy with drizzles.
,12.1ma,a. About 730 p.m., source heard jet planes take off. Flying
was continued until 9:30 p.m. A eearchlight was in operation. Weather
was clearing up.
gLapA2.1,...imozy. There was no flying. Weather was dull.
2.Lamlea. At 10 aem.? a swept-back jet fighter took off; at 10:30
a.m., two planes fitted with auxiliary fuel tanks took off in rapid
succession. Flying discontinued about 1:30 p.m., when the weather
became dull,
Jqamix4,0bout 930 a.m., three swept-back jet fighters took off.
Other MIG-15s fitted with auxiliary fuel tanks took off in the
morning. Flying discontinued in the early afternoon, when the weather
became dull.
2?1,,L,,ema,mc, No air activity way observed from -the town. The weather as
cloudy and dull.
g?...p.ja. Individual local training flights were made in the merning.
Weather was 7/10 overcast, visiblity good. At 3 pem.g a swept-back
jet fighter took off. It became airborne when it had reached the middle
of the runeay. It had retracted its landing gear, when it crossed the
road to Alt-Dabern. Individuel patches of snow were seen on the runway.
Between 8 and 10 p.me? source heard the noise of flying aircraft from
the town and saw a searchlight in operation.
2,2101A4,47,5. No flying was observed. There were hey snowftlls.
2,LIJAnom,. Some Po-2e made local training flights about 4 17,0J116 There
were snowfalls which changed into rein In the afternoon.
kjakuatz. Although the runway vas covered with snow. M1G.15s nrar-
ticed flying throughout the day.1
There were intermittent light snowfalls in the morning; in the

No activity was observed at the emplacement.2
Two German women, who had been discharged in 1952 from the airfield
had egain been hired for work at the field in January. Motor
.vehicles .seen at the field
The following air activity was observed at the field from 19 .
January through 6 February:
11..anwerx. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 8 .m., individual
MiG-15s made local training flights. Weather was 10 overcast.
Xe_agagamg. Three MiG-15e were observed flying at an altitude of
about 400 meters from 1 to 3 p.m. There was a 10/10 overcast.
21,4augata. No air activity was observed. The weather was hazy.
22LIgnmary. From 8:40 ale. to noon, spume heard the noise of
intensive air activity conducted by jet planes at an altitude of
600 to 700 meters above the closed ceiling.
23 JaElaagy., Heavy formation flying was practiced in the morniug.
At 11:50 a. m., eource observed nine MIG-15e flying in squadron
jaoelin formation. The formation uae subsequently changed into
flight wedge and line-abreast formations, the distance between the
individual planes being one wing span. In the efternoon? individual
local training flights by MiG-15s were observed,.
2A.,10_25.1matry No air activity was observed. Weather was had,
aLignmao Heavy flying in formations of up to squadron strength
was observed in the morning, There was little formation flying in
formations of two in the afternoon, The weather was clear.
12 Jafiglue Individual MIG-15a practiced flying at altitudes from
400 to ..00 meters from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The culling was at about
800 meters.
Lakr_uzz. There was no flying.
Latzzacc, Three individual MIG-15s were observed flying in the
morning.

.52211Lam.. Individual flights were made at an altitude of )out
500 meters in the morning,
Latzuzz. lormation flying in groups of two was practiced at
great altitude from 9 a. m0 to 1 p.m. Weather was 4/10 overcast4J-

5. On 22 January, source observed a radio installation with one Mast
15 to 20 meters high about 500 meters northwest of the Papenbruch-
Wettstock road. The top of the mast was fitted with a ring 10 to
15 cm in diamter. A van-like truck and a canvas-covered device,
presumably a generator, were seen near the mast. On 22 and 25 Jszu.3-7,
source observed two newly mounted wires on the poles of the telephole
line extending along the Papenbruck-Wittstock road. The wires origieated
at the town exit of WittetooW and terminated near km marker 2.4
near the radio installation."
. In Janwary, source observed, in the southwestern corner of the
field, an AAA emplacement with six guns whose caliber was estimate!
at 36 mm04 East of Red Mill, source observed a radio installation
in a small house on a road. An antenna mast was also seen there.
ISAimpit. The He of a fighter corps and a fighter regiment are
stationed at Wittstock airfield. After weather conditions improved0
air activity at the field increased
eaerz0 it is possible that the planet involved were transferred to
Wittstock.
2 J jCbmment. An 4AA battery of 6 x 37-rm guns is emplaced at the
field.
LLgemeapete It is believed that this radio installation had
been set up temporarily in connection with an exercise. It is
' unknown, whether it was operated by personnel from Wittstock air-.
field.
