This is UNEVALUATED Information __,__REPORT[ 1? On 2.7 February 1953, the Elsner Kaserne on Franz ++iehring Strasse in Grirr,a was occupied by about 800 troops who wore red-bordered black epaulets. Four 76 -cm s and three 120-n:n mortars were seen in the billeting area. Motor vehicles seen in traffic froin and tn 11107 hilletin area included truck 2. On 27 February, the Ctrassburg K.asorne on the south side of Leipziger Strasse,, opposite the Geriehtswe quartered about 800 troops. About 100 soldiers practiced marching in the barracks yard, while 8 to 10 groups of soldiers practiced firing in the eastern section of the yard, on 27 February. About 150 soldiers practiced with and without small arns in the barracks yard on 5 March. At about 10 a.r!., about 18 soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia marched along the Chaussee 6 km west of GrirTa, practicing cover from air observation as they marched toward Grinrna. Five trucks stood near the gasoline dump west of the barracks installation. Motor vehicles seen in traffic from and to the barracks instt~l3.ation On 7 Mar. ch, the Eisner Kaserne was occupied by about 800 soldiers. From 27 February to 7 March, individual officers with engineer insignia left the installation. From 80 tolOC soldiers received basic infantry training at group level in the barracks yard on 27 February.
