The political officer of each armored unit is.esponsible for the selection of NC? candidates. who are being sent to training centers at KenyermezB, Kemenee, and at, Vipa. Training at these camps lasts for .three months. Some of the outstanding trainees-ate sent to Kemence for further,,..44Z months of instruction. Each of the above named armored centers gra :4atee 30 NCOs per month, i.e, altogether' 90 newly appointed. NCOs reach the armored units each month, In all three camps there are Russian officers among. the instructors, Commands are given, even by the Hungarian instructors, in Russian, b. In addition to the armored trainees, AVE troops receive instruction at Kemenee: co Since the spring of 1952,large.scale construction has been in progress at Kemence. Two auxilliary labor battalions are engaged in the esnstruction of new barracks, garages, machine shops$ etc. 2. Soviet Basic Traia irng Oamol near Szeged a. About 8 km. north of Szeged, on the south side of Fehertd, there is a bal is training camp for SQvj.et recruits. In late spring of 1952, approximately 2,000 recruits were sent from this camp to Soviet units in southeast-Hungary. b. On 23, 24, and 27 September 1952, three train sections carrying a total of 1,700 trainees arrived at this camp from the direction of Bekescsaba and Gyula. The recruits were in uniform, but that of them were not armed, They were greeted by a delegation of the Hungarian Ministry of Defense, headed by a Russian, Lt. Col. T.
