The state clothing factory went into production in 1952, It is made up of four
large buildings about 80 by 25 m., two of them of four stories and two of them
five stories. Several small buildings belong to the factory which is located
between the church and the cloister.
2. Most of the 5,000 workers are women. A good many workerst cottages. have been
built, some opposite the factory a the east side of Kossuth Ll4os utca and
the rest east of the railroads near the so-oalled brioayyard. These cottages are
modern, with flat roofs, with one or two-room apartments, and a bath on each floor.
3. The factory runs a trade school, with 200 young men and 600 girls as pupils.
4. The factory has no railroad spur, but uses a group o at least 15 trucks to haul
material from the station. The trucks also tran.sport,workers to their homes.

5. There are three shifts at 7 a.m., 3 p.m. and 11 p.m.
6. The factory produces clothes for men and women as well as uniforms for the army,
the police and the railroads, In September 19528 there were 62,000 short and
long waterproof cloaks produced and 18,000 workersL jackets, Daily, 40 to 50
truckloads of finished garments were taken to the ;railroad station.
7. The plant is fully mechanized, Electric shears out 50 pieces of cloth at once,,
and but conveyors are used extensively. The work is arranged so that a given
piece starts on the highest floor and works its way downward to the shipping room
on the ground floor, The factory has its own fashion planning sections, one for
women and one for men.

9. Cloth comes from KaposvAr, Baja, the Ceepeli Poszt?gyar, the Obudai Magyar Textil,
Loden-GyAr, and Gyyri Textil Ihrek. Five or six carloads daily are used.
Too The factory uses e1ecticity from the Ikervar station. The old city electric
station on Berzsenyi utca is used as a standby station.
