(LISTED BELOW) SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT NO. 1- As of late January 1953, the infra-red spectrometer was still being developed in pilot model at Zeiss,Jena,by Dr. ('nu) Bolz. It was not expected to be finished until mid-1953. This is the Zeiss bolometer, with a range of 8 to 24 microns, using rock salt prisms. 1' 2. Dr. Bola and a number of others are responsible to Dr. (fnu) Lucas, the head of the Measuring-Instruments I..alboratnry (:?4esslabor) a Zeiss. All laboratories at eiss are ultimately res 'onsible to (fnu. Goerlich. ) The "ound Laboratory (nchallabor) is run by i'rof. (fnu) ..Fchuster. (Fnu) Liebl is responsible for the 'lanplatten (ultra-sonic testing device). 3. Freque? It discussions are being carried on between. 'Z.ei l s Jana, and the Fie;:,chop Kahia plant. The subject of current interest to the two firms is the negative magnet (i'egativriagnet), made with ceramic parts. No application has as yet b en found for this magnet. Durini, 1952 there were many discussions between Lows and Hescho concerning the flame photometer (Flammennhotometer). 4.
