The Stalin armored car factory at Stalin (Brasov) is now producing T-34 tanks,
At the beginning of December 1952, 12 Russian engineers arrived in Stalin
to take over the leading positions in the factory. Some of these engineers
had spent as much as a year in the Borsig factory at Hunsfeld in East Germarrs,
where some T-34.1 s, but especially spare parts for theme are produced.
Five hundred particularly political reliable workers from the Stalin area
have been sent to Chorzow and Huta Batory (sic) in Poland to be instructed
in the construction of tanks and munitions. In these factories there also are
Bulgarians for the same purpose.
3. During 1949 the Bela Brainer weapons factory was producing hand grenades. In
1950 an office for "special problems" was set up to prepare the factory for
the production of other munitions. In September 1952 a Soviet technical
commission visited the factory and until December 1952 was inquiring into
the possibility of altering production to weapons
The former I.A.R. factory was altered to the production of tractors and
agricultural machinery. The five year plan calls for the production of
25,000 tractors,
5e. The Steagul Rosu ball bearing factory is headed by three Russian instructors.
About 70 percent of the production goes to the USSR.
