1. There are approximately 500 Chinese Nationalists in the area between Mong Heat
and the Thai-border in need of medical attention, most of whom are sick rather
thtn'"wouddede Chinese -officers at Chiangmai state that there are only 200 men
in the area, .most of whom ai od ill-"w i'th malaria,
2, The Chinese Nationalists are offering substantial inducement, without success,
to any doctor who is willing to cross the border and treat the men, Some Chinese
Nationalists have been and continue to be wrought to private hospitals in Chiengmaaie
The total number confined at any given time, however, is no more than one or two
dozen.
