The 2 Mountain Artillery Regiment (2 Obuziere de Munte) is stationed at
Gherla. It has a telephone link with a newly built guard post at an
elevation of 600 or 700 meters on a mountain located between Gher~a and
the village of Nicula, approximately one-half km. from Gherla and one km.
from Nicula. The post is housed in a concrete building approximately 30
meters long and 30 meters wide. It is guarded by Rumanian soldiers and
is believed to serve as an aircraft identification post..
