The center of the fortifications was at Shihlung (N 23-07, E 113-51) and the works extended as far as Shencheuan (N'22-32, E 11408) to the south, Huiyang (N 23-05, E 114-26) to the east, Bocca Tigris to the west, and Canton to the north. 4. a large number of local laborers was conscripted to 25X1 construct fortifications between Jenshan (N 22-49, E 114-48), Chienshan (N 22-578 E 114-08)9 KukQeng (N 22-55, E 114-06), and Kuantsan .(N 22-55, E 11405).2 A large number of artillery emplacements was being added to the fortifications which had been built by the Chinese Nationalist troops during the Sino-Japanese War._ 5, the Chinese Communists had rebuilt the former 25X1 Nationalist fortifications from Jenshan through Aottou (N 22-43, E 114-32) and Futsuao (1715/1311/0991) to Kuants'ang (N 22-54, E 114-06). The line was defended by the 122 Division., 41 Army (Fr4), and b an artillery regiment., commanded by CHOU Ching-ch'un (0719/ 2529[2504),3 which was-stationed at Shayuyung (N 22-369 E 114.24) and Kgueiyung (N 22-37, E 114-26). 1.
