(FOR KEY SEE REVERSE) 25X1 1, At the V,M.MOlotov Iroiworks,National Corporation, at Trinec, the Cieslarova Platform, organization has been f lr reinstated as of 24 March 1953, and the direction of the concern has been intrusted to Oldrich Wrobel, who had been arrested in connection with the Slansky affair and only recently released. Josef Cieslar has been designated chairman of the words covncil (zavodni rada) and given full authority to recruit manpower for the concern, 2. These arrangements have been introduced by agreement with the Central Committee of the Czech Communist Party, The decision to reinstate Cieslarova Platforma was taken in agreement with the Polish. Government, wh3.oh is now granting permissions for the mass employment of Polish workers at the Trinec plant, In return, Czechoslovak technicie.ne will be allowe=d to work 6n the extension of the Polish coal and iron mining operations at Katowice. 3, These changes indicate that the Soviet Government is'now backing complete economic collaboration between Poland and Czechoslovakia. It is likely that Czechoslovak Deputy Fierier.Jaromir Dolansky will now revive other plans of Lu6r?ik Frejka, who was responsible for Cieslarova Platforma in the first place and who was executed as a defendant in the Slansky trial, Dolansky is being supported by Vaclav Nosek, Czechoslovak Minister of the Interior, 4, The negotiations for the employment of Polish labor and Czechoslovak technicians were completed on 24 March 1953, On 8 .April 1953 a more general agreement for economic collaboration was signed in Warsaw. 5. The Soviet authorities (sic) have fixed 23 December 1953 as the date for the Molotov Ironworks combine to reach full production on the level designated by Frejka in 1948 as part of the Five Year Plan, With a view to achieving this the Czechoslovak Government has agreed to put production at Trinec under the control of a Soviet expert, Malyshev (fnu), now head of an industrial mission, SECRET/CONTROL _ U.S. OFFICIALS ONLY 019 STAT v x ARMY X NAVY AIR S FBI' AEC ORR, E xf (Not.: Washington Distribution Indicated By "X"I Field Distribution by N 25 YEAR RE-REVIEW Approved For Release 2009/03/19: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA001200850001-4 Approved For Release 2009/03/19: CIA-RDP80-0081 OA001200850001-4 SECRET/CONTROL .- U.S. OFFICIALS 0 25X1 . . ::1 -2- 9, Productiop at the Molotov Ironworks is now 41 percent (sic).
