1. In early 1953 an unidentified Soviet army unit, allegedly about the size
of a regiment., was quartered in Malbork (Marienburg). Soldiers of the
unit wore black epaulets with a red border. No further details were
available. An army telephone line ran from Malbork to Sztum (Szuhm).
2. During the summer of 1952 a Soviet training area for armored troops and
artillery units was located outside Drawsko (0 53/R 50). An undetermined
number of Soviet soldiers was observed in Drawsko., and Soviet tanks and
artillery pieces were seen in the training area.
