1, The press in Rumania is directed by the Propa anda and Agitation Department of
the Central Committee of the Communist Patty (Propagit), whose head is Alexandru
Moghioros. Propagit is directly responsible for the Central Press Department,
which has branches in all ministries. Newspapers are controlled simultaneously
by Propagit and the Central Press Department, and no paper can go to press without
the approval of the resident censor.
Propagit, the Central Press Department, and the censor jointly control the six
publishing houses now operating in Rumania. These are:
a. Technical Publishing House.
b. Publishing House for Youth Literature,
c. Publishing House of the Communist Party -(P)).
d. Publishing House of the Trade Unions - (CGM).
e, Publishing House for Literature and Art (ESPLA)o
f. Russian Publishing House (Cartea Rusa).
