Czyzyny (Q51/Z24) is located about six kilometers northeast of Krakow,
three kilometers from Nogila. Binozyce village is located about two kilometers
north of Czyzyny. The following sketch locates the various military and
civilian installations in the city.

1. Double track railroad line to Katowice via Zabierzow and to Tarnow via Boolmia
and Brzesko.
. Main Krakow railroad station.
3. Single track railroad line to Mogila.
4. Krakow-Plaszow way station. Plaszow is about one kilometer east of the Bain
Krakow station.
5. A road paved with basalt cobblestones and planted with birch and linden tzees$
leading to. Nagila.
6. A new road running from Czyzyny to Binczyce village.
7. Large barracks located about one kilometer from the plaszow station., on the
right side of the road marked No. 5, where KBW troops were billeted in 1950.
8. Defense zone: This zone consists of a hill planted with trees. There are
two roads going up the hill. Each road is about 12 meters wide. Vertiail
brick walls run alongside these roads. The walls, about one meter thick, are
built in a zigzag pattern. There are two wide doors in these walls, opening
into pillboxes. Each pillbox is about 40 meters long and about four meters
high. They are used to store building material, wood, oil, and gasoline.
9. A Polish military airfield. The field is bordered by a road, by the above
mentioned defense zone, and the northern border of Binczyce village. The
dimensions of the field are about 2 1/2 kilometers by 800-900 meters. The
entr&ie is about 300 meters from the road marked No. 6. There are one and
two story buildings, among them a few fairly lame hangars. Single and
twin motor aircraft are parked on the airfield.
10. A tobacco and cigarette factory consisting of two buildings. They have two
stories, and are about 50 by 20 meters in size.
11. Several blocks of houses belonging to Mogila village.
12. Several blocks of buildings under construction for workers building
the Nowa Bata blast furnace.
13. A cemetery planted with trees.
14. A moor.
"the c vilian airfield at Czyzyny was being converted into a military
airfield and construction of several buildings and runways had already been
started.
