1. Because of'a very acute shortage of sulphuric acid, VEB Farbenfabrik
Wolf en is at present unable to offer any H-Acid (sic) to the West.
The supply of all products connected ?pith morinchborobenzol has become
tight over the past ten months. Mono chlorob.enzol itself became very
short in the third week of January 19529 as a result of larger purchases
made by Eastern Europe. Wolf en is at present offering large
quantities of nitrobenzol and metadinitrobenzol for export to Western
Europe.
2. Wolf en was recently suffering from an acute shortage of betanapthol -(used,
inter alias for the production of phenylbetanapthylamine). This has now
been partially overcome by imports from the West. Supplies of V2A6 and
V4.& steels continue to be extremely short. Addressing a meeting of

the lack of materials of all kinds wou m
the fulfilment of the pro uction plan impossible.
3. The, capacity of the meta-amino-phenol plant, erected at Wolfen about a
year ago, is approximately one ton per day. The factory is experiencing;
difficulty in selling this output. Meta-amino-phenol is used for the
production of para?amino,=salycylic acid.
4. Farbenfabrik Wolf en has recently sold 200 tons of ara-nitro-aniline and
250 tons of para-nitro chlorobenzol
