had imported small fish to destroy anopheles mosquito larvae. These fish had
been Introduced into the Rion River area in the Poti region to feed upon the
mosquito larvae there. I recall no other details; I assume that the
anti-malaria station referred to was in Tbilisi.
2. Askan.i Nova, , was the site of a famous animal reservation
in the prewar years. This preserve was the
Only One o tskind. in the Soviet Union in 1952. The reservation had a
scientific research institute engaged in cattle-breeding experimentation.

station which was engaged in the reclaiming of sandy ground for
agricultural use, but I have no further information on this station.
4. I.have.drawn a rough sketch to show the location of several medical
installations of Sevastopol in 1941 (see page 37. The Biological
station of Sevastopol was engaged in the study of marine biological
specimens.
