University students on 30 April and the rest were handed out at the University
on 2 May 1953. The pamphlet was signed "The Free Democrats for National
Liberation."
2. A translation of the pamphlet is as follows'
"Negotiations - Path to Treacher~r"
"Citizens,
"The negotiations have started and 1Vajib went on following the same steps
which had formerly been taken by the Saaaist, Constitutionalist, and Wiit&ist
Parties until the month of October 151, and adopting the same procedure taken
by the traitors Sidgi, Nukrashi, and Hilali. He neglected and threw aside the
means for which we have called, and in which all the people have faith, i.e,.,
the blood-thirsty armed struggle which is the onlylanguage that imperialism
understands.
"Amid chaos of false declarations and weak, despised, comic representations
in the form of "military training," the factions, which.have imposed themselves
as representatives of the Egyptian nation, meet with the body of imperialism
to strike a bargain about our-rights and liberties.
The alleged revolutii.is.tea travel far and wide throughout the country making
declarations against the imperialists and against military agreements while,
at the same time, they conspire with the Americanized Arabs such as Faysal,
Sham'un,and the little dictator Shishakli, to tempt us by a new name-carrying
despised object, i.e., "pact of security among:_the Arab nations" which is 25X1A
nothing but hitching us to the wheel of the hostile capitalist camp.

"Any pact with the Arabs, who are infected with imposed imperialism,
is a service to imperialism and against the interests of nations ? no
matter how those Americanited people try to impose it upon us to present
it as a gift to the new visitor, Mr. Foster Dollar (deliberate corruption
of the correct name), the American Foreign Minister and well-known
blood-,thirster of Korea.
"Our nation that has seen how the so-called "protectors of the constitution",
have ruined it, and how the pretenders of -freedom became themselves jailers,
will also understand that the term "tvacu,tion or Death" means nothing, on
their part, eccept arriving at an imperialist agreement 'ka 1niiing-! zsh tot the
War and Ruirr Cwt.
"But this Nation y ?Yj_jzs already smashed the previous negotiations and
refused stubbornly all Mutual Defense schemes will,, under the leadership
of the Working Class, smash down this new attempt.
"Down with negotiations and their members'.
"Down with the Mutual Security which is the twin of Mutual Defense:
"Down with the military dictatorship which is the servant of Americans:'
"Long live the popular armed struggle for expelling imperialism."
