The following power stations are at present (sic) under construction in East Germany. It is planned to continue Work. on them during 1953, and at v. the same time to increase the capacity of existing power plants, notably at Luetzkendorf and 'Dessau, the latter to provide power for the aircraft industry whose reconstruction at this site is planned. "Elbe" at Vockerode 2. This power station is to be completed in two ].paxta, the first half is scheduled to be completed by October, 1953, and will consist oft a. 2 boilers (Kesel) each of 160't/h at 80 atmospheres at 5000 C. b. 3 condensing engines (Kondensationsmasahinen), each of 32,000 K.W. The second part, due for completion during 1955, will consist oft c. 6 boilers each of. 160 4;,/h at 80 atmospheres at 500? C. d. 6 condensing engines, each of 32,000 K.W. 3, At present, work on "Elbe" Vockerode is behind schedule and its oomplefio i. has not been given the highest priority. One of the 6 boilers was ready for installing, when the Russian authorities ordered its immediate ship- ment to the Soviet Union. This fact in itself means that the Qctober' 1953 completion date cannot be kept, Trattendorf . 4. Work on this power station has been postponed indefinitely because of short- ages of materials. Calbe The power plant at Ca_lbe is designed to grow with, and supply, the 3.LW. (Risen Werke West). At present, there are only three furnaces at Calbes. and the power plant currently under construction is to consist of: 3 boilers each of 64 t/h at 4O . atmospheres, at 4604-C, be 2 condensing engines each of 126,000 LR. 1 back-pressure engine (Gegendruckmasbhine) of 1,200 LW. 7. It is intended to increase-.the number of furnaces to 20 as and 'Then money and materials can be found. The power plant is being constructed so as to allow for expansion when necessary. Hirschfelde 8. The construction of this plant has been temporarily postponed. When complerted, the power plant is to have: a) 4 boilers each of 200 t/h at 125 atmospheres at 5000 C. b) 5 high-pressure engines (Vorsobaitmasohinen) each of 25,000 I.W. o) 1 outlet._aoupled engine (Naaohsohaltmasohine) of 50,000 LW. 9? It is intended to aoaplete this power at+~tioa in 1955 . in a modified forma' The original design included: a. 8 boilers each of 160 t/h at 125 atmospheres at'500?C. be 4 back pressure enginer each of 25,000 LW. o) 1 condensing engine of 25,000 LW. o) 1 condensing engine of 12,600 LW. The new plan only requires the construction of 4 boilers and 2 back-pressure engines at this plant. H"itsoheid be.2 condensing engines, each of 12,500 I.W. 11. When oompleted, it is intended that the plant shall consist ofz a. 4 boilers each of 160 t/h.at 125 atmospheres, at 5000 C. b. 2 high-pressure engines, each of 25,000 K.W. o. 2 outlet coupled engines (Naohschaltmaschinen) eadh of 50,000 K.W. Eisenhuettenkombinat Oat, Fuerstenber Oder 13. This power plant, which at present is receiving the highest priority, is designed to pro-Pide power for, and itself run on, waste gases supplied by Fisenhuetten- kombinat Oat, Fuerstenberg/Oder. The plant is to haves a. 6 boilers each of 80 t/h at 40 atmospheres at 4506 0. bo 5 condensing engines each giving 25,000 K.P. 14.
