The Rumanian units located at Suceava are as follows:

a. The garrison of Suceava consists of the entire 5 Rumanian Armored Division,
which was organized in 1952 and is now very nearly complete.
Commander: Major General Wiliam Horengo,
Strength: Above 4,000 men. The division consists of the 7 and 16 Armored
Regiments, the 8 and 13 Infantry Regiments, the 7 Heavy Infantry
Regiment, the 3 AT Regiment, the 6 Guards Regiment, and the 9 and 11
Heavy Artillery Regiments.
be The 7 Armored Regiment in the Vasile Roaita Barracks, Strada Armatei 25, a
new building.
Strength: About 400 men.
Commander: Colonel Danila Munteanu.
Adjutant: Captain Karin Mancea. Divided into two battalions of four
companies each. Each company has 10 T-34 tanks.
Shoulder boards decorated in light red.
c. The 16 Armored Regiment in the Vasile Roaita Barracks, Strada Armatei 25,
a new building.
Commander: Colonel Alexandru David,
Strength: About 500 men. Divided into two battalions of four companies each.
In 1 Battalion each company has 10 SP guns, type SU-1222; in 2
Battalion each company has 10 T-34 tanks,
d. The 13 Infantry Regiment in the I.V. Stalin Barracks, Strada Armatei 27, a
new building.
Strength: About 900 men.
Commander: Colonel Silvio Crasca.
Adjutant: Major Sandu Hutanu.
Divided into three battalions of four companies each. Each company has four
light Maxim Tokarev machine guns and four heavy German M.34 machine guns.

new building.
Strength: About 500 men.

Divided into two battalions of four companies each,
f, The 7 Heavy Infantry Regiment in the Marasesti Barracks, Strada Marasesti 12.
Strength: About 500 men.
Commander: Colonel Vasile Dobre.
Adjutant: Captain Petre Patrufrat.
Divided into two battalions, with a third in process or organization.
g. The 6 Guards Regiment, in the Ilie Pintilie Barracks, Strada Marasesti 14.
Strength: About 700 men.
Commander: Colonel David Persa.
Adjutant: Mateica Chrisan.
Divided into three battalions of three companies each. Each of the rifle
companies has four light Tokarev machine guns and two heavy Maxim machine guns.
h. The 3 AT Regiment in the 7 Martie Barracks, Strada Armata Sovietica 19, a
new buildings
Strength: About 450 men.
Commander: Lt. Col. Stefan Manea.
Divided into two battalions of four companies each, each company having four
76.2 mm guns.
i. The 9 Heavy Artillery Regiment, in the Tudor Vladimirescu Barracks, Strada
Artileriei 24.
Strength: About 500 men.
Commander: Colonel Sandu Constantinescu.
Divided into two sections of four batteries each, each battery having four
122 mm howitzers.
J. The 11 Heavy Artillery Regiment, in the Gheorghiu Dej Barracks, Strada
Artileriei 26.
Strength: About 500 men.
Commander: Colonel Lazar Campianu.
Divided into two sections, one having four batteries of 122 mm howitzers,
the other as yet without guns.
k. Suceava suffered severely during World War II and most of the present barracks
are new. It is probable that there are units of some other divisions in the
tovkn.
