The harbor basin l..ras built in 1950-51-52. Connection with the fairway
to Rostock was accomplished through wet dredging. The quay walls were
built vertically as disbanded gravity-retaining-walls. Railroad siding,
leading into the main railroad net were available. the
south quay of the harbor was sometimes used as a fitting area for ships
built in the Neptun shipyard, but this information was only hearsay.
Fish were unloaded, carried into the shed rsh?wn as Point 1 on
Enclosure (A)_7 for classification, and then loaded onto railroad
cars for further transportation.
