1, In the @urrency ?6xchange, beginning 1 June 1953, individuals not employed
exchanged their-money at banks upon presentation of their household cards
(kmenovy list), Employed persons exchanged their money at their places of
employment. Finance officers of the enterprises made the exchange,- All persons
receipted by signing a register. No entries were made in identification
cards(Obla.nsky prukaz) or household cards (kmenovy list)
2. On 5 June all employees of the V,I,Lenin Works (formerly Skoda Works)
in Pilsen engaged in a protest strike. A strong SNB detachment attempted to
restore order in Pils $n, Six persons were killed when the mob refused to obey
orders to disperse. The array has been guarding the V,I,Lbnin Works since 5 June,
3. Sti?ikes were also called on 5 June in Sokolov and in Moravska Ostrava, The
Sokolov strike was ended on the same day by:the SNB without loss of life,

On 3 and 9 June 1953 not one carload of coal arrived in Selb-Ploessberg or
Schirnding, West Germany, from Czechoslovakia. On 9 June, five carloads arrived,
with 14...per day scheduled for 10 and 11 June. Transport of other goods to West
Germany as well as of goods in transit to other countries from Czechoslovakia
was stopped on 3June.
