Mass arrests and mass discharges of workers have taken place. Released workers with their families have been expelled from their lodgings. The wave of resistance has been suppressed for west of leaders,, organiza- tion, weapons,, and support fr(m abroad. 2a The attitude of the army has been favorable toward the demonstrators. In Praguep soldiers issued weapons to demonstrators. SIB! police and militia units were trans- farredto different garrisons. In their own they were no guarantee against resist- ance.
